The Mandarin Duck must have escaped from a farm, this duck is not native from North America. He joined a colony of Mallards along the banks of Rivière des Mille-Iles and met the hen Wood Duck. Somehow they got attached to each other though they are of different species. I was kneeling on the snow, holding the camera with the tele-lens almost at ground level. With backscreen extended I was able to frame this shot.
